Tsuut’ina First Nation

Biography 

 

Teddy, a 2-spirit Tsuut’ina First Nation member of Treaty 7, has been the G4 SNTTC’s Director of Justice since 2022. Teddy co-chairs the Tsuut’ina Nation Tosguna Police Commission. Since 2022, Teddy has been on an AFN policing task force. Teddy is a member of the Indigenious advisory council for the Alberta Human Rights Commission. Teddy also holds a Position on the Public Safety Indigenious Advisory Council under the Ministry of Public Safety Alberta. Teddy is the current Chair for the First Nations Canadian Association of Police Governance. Teddy hopes we can develop mechanisms that honour Treaty rights to justice and safety and foster community connection for all people of Turtle Island through conversations that grow our communities.

Destiny Weasel Fat - Kainai First Nation, Blackfoot

Biography 

 

Oki, My name is Destiny WF, I am Blackfoot, from Kainai, Blood Tribe. & I am the creator and owner of DWF.DESIGNS; Based out of Calgary AB. 

​

The main focus of my brand is Empowering Indigenous peoples globally to grow confidentiality through the power of beaded Accessories, Fashion & Lifestyle. 

​

My goal is to help others reclaim their Indigenous identities of raw beauty through my modern touch of traditionally made accessories & clothing I make with love & good spirits.

Nicole Robertson

Mathias Colomb Cree Nation in Treaty No.6

Biography 

 

Nicole Robertson has dedicated her life to creating awareness about Indigenous Peoples through the media. She founded Muskwa Productions twenty-four years ago standing on the pillars of truth, justice, courage and benevolence. Nicole’s career has taken her across Canada, United States and the United Kingdom, writing, directing, and storytelling. Nicole celebrates Indigenous brilliance based upon her Indigenous worldviews and natural laws. She is a member of the Mathias Colomb Cree Nation in Treaty No.6.

 

For over thirty years, Nicole’s work has circled around breaking down stereotypes about Indigenous Peoples through mainstream screen industries and the media on cultural protocols when filming and engaging First Nation communities. As a former broadcast journalist and entrepreneur, she has built many bridges between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.  The media mogul is creating platforms with First Nations leadership, communities, businesses, private sector and governments to create opportunities for and with Indigenous leadership and international business leaders.

 

Nicole Robertson was profiled in a book entitled, “Phenomenal Female Entrepreneurs” by Second Story Press. She is the first Indigenous woman to be a Board Director with Travel Alberta. In 2009, Muskwa Productions won the Aboriginal Woman Entrepreneur Award of Distinction through the Alberta Chamber of Commerce. In 2023, Nicole was honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal. In 2024, she won the Indigenous Business Award through the Calgary Chamber of Commerce. Nicole is currently working on a podcast and book.
